Getting Away with It

What on earth does that mean?
Getting away with what?

Who is getting away with it?
Where in life are we getting away with it?
How are we getting away with it?

What are we as individuals getting away with?
What are our partners getting away with?
What are our kids getting away with?
What are our teenagers getting away with?
What are our neighbours getting away with?

What are our politicians getting away with?
What are our media getting away with?
What are our anonymous names getting away with?
What are our cyber bullies getting away with?
What are our Internet trolls getting away with?

What are our stalkers getting away with?
What are our gamblers getting away with?
What are our drug dealers getting away with?
What are our sex trafficking industry getting away with?
What are our millions of paedophiles getting away with?

What are our prisoners getting away with?
What are our soccer teams getting away with?
What are our celebrities getting away with?
What are our banks getting away with?

What are our pharmaceuticals getting away with?
What are our giant oil companies getting away with?
What are our corporations getting away with?
What are our supermarkets getting away with?

What are our food industry giants getting away with?
What are our tech world getting away with?
What are our countries getting away with?

WHAT IS OUR WORLD REALLY GETTING AWAY WITH?

What affect does this have on our planet?

Let’s get real, how many of us even consider or think about how our daily choices may be contributing to mother earth?

We may like to think we are getting away with it but WHAT IF we are not?

What if our body knows what is right and what is not instantly?
What if our body registers the ill choice we have just made?
What if we are not getting away with anything inside our body?

What if we all have a moral compass deep inside us that knows what is Truth and what is not?

What if our head would like to tell us something but we do know different?
What if we have become mini masters at distorting the truth to suit us?
What if we ignore stuff because it is convenient for us?
What if we like the buzz of getting away with something?

What if we forget in the moment that we are hurting another?
What if we know getting away with it is harming us too?
What if we are hooked on living this ‘getting away with it’ lifestyle?
What if we keep repeating more of this and it becomes our foundation?

What if our ‘getting away with it’ is stacking up and it gives rise to a tension in our body?

What if we do know something we are doing is simply not feeling true?

What if we just keep doing what we do and are getting away with it?

What if we never choose to stop this behaviour unless we get caught?

What if the Laws of Karma are Universal Laws that exist?

Do we then change?
Do we really change or go back to old ways?

What if we never get caught?
What if we are never held accountable for our actions?

How can we change if this is just how we live?

Could it be possible that change would mean taking RESPONSIBILITY?

Could it be possible change would mean being accountable for our actions?

Could it be possible change would bring up fear of moving forward in a true way?

Could it be possible change would be uncomfortable as we would be exposed?

Could it be possible change would mean addressing our ingrained behaviours?

Could it be possible change would mean stepping up?

Could it be possible change would mean showing the world there is another way?

Could it be possible change would bring evolution?

Could it be possible that we simply do not want change as that would mean we can no longer blame anyone or anything?

How does a tiny baby know what is right and what is not before talking?
To keep it simple a baby would cry if we shouted at it.
So here is the confirmation that we know inside us a feeling that tells us what is true and what is not. That means we do have a marker inside us – that moral compass – even before we speak.

So when we tell a lie and think it is normal that we are getting away with something who are we

Deceiving
Tricking
Fooling
Avoiding
Pretending
Concealing

Do we really believe we are Getting Away with It?

Dear World

Could it be possible that getting away with anything that we know is not the Truth is simply confirming we are not choosing to take Responsibility?

We get away with shouting at our kids because we are bigger and taller.
We get away with feeding our children foods that harm their body.

We get away with leaving our babies in the car when it is super-hot outside.
We get away with leaving our young children in the house while we pop to the shops.
We get away with selling our children to traffickers.
We get away with abusing children as we hold a position of authority in society.

We get away with domestic violence as our partner never bothers to report it.
We get away with porn as we hold a regular job and have a family.
We get away with drug dealing as it’s quick bucks without having to do a proper job.
We get away with petty crime as it is easy and it’s a way of life.
We get away with doing dodgy deals as they are small compared to big crimes.

We get away with things because we know people in positions of power.
We get away with using money to lobby political parties for our own agenda.
We get away with giving back handers for our personal gains.
We get away with a life of crime as that is all we know.
We get away with pretending we don’t work so we get more state benefit.

We get away with lying everyday as everyone else is doing the same.
We get away with looking like we got a great life but we have not.
We get away with making things complicated to keep our minds busy.
We get away with controlling others but making it look like we are being nice.

We get away with driving up a one-way street as it’s the middle of the night.
We get away with parking outside someone’s drive because it suits us.
We get away with double the highway speed limit as no cops in sight.
We get away with jumping the lights as we left home late.

We get away with our daily fix of marijuana as some say it’s medicinal.
We get away with our drug addiction as the other way feels too much.
We get away with a poison called alcohol as it is not classed as a drug.
We get away caffeine in our tea, coffee and energy drinks to keep going.

We get away with not cooking food as takeaway and pre-pack food is just there.
We get away with over eating because we just love to indulge in food.
We get away with jumbo size soda as we don’t know what’s in it.
We get away with copious amounts of sugar as we heard it gives us energy.
We get away with eating giant bars of chocolate as that’s the new size.

We get away with maxing our credit cards because they let us.
We get away with living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget.
We get away with Botox but we know we just keep wanting more.
We get away with plastic surgery to fix us from the outside.

We get away with dragging our exhausted body around every day.
We get away with the worry of our personal health as the medical system is there.
We get away with never wanting change as we like our fixed way of living.
We get away with blaming this, that and the other.

We get away with being ignorant about World Health Days.
We get away with not doing what we need to when we have Diabetes.
We get away with lying so we get to jump the hospital waiting list.

We get away with smoking in a no-smoking environment, as no one is there.
We get away with our stress levels rising as there are solutions out there.
We get away with cursing and judging whoever we want.

We get away with sending irresponsible texts and emails.
We get away with heaps of stuff on social media because we simply can.
We get away with phishing and spamming because no one stops us.

We get away with extra marital affairs as we don’t what to see what is wrong.
We get away with having sex in the office because we hold a position of power.

We get away with damaging other people’s property.
We get away with venting our anger onto others.
We get away with spitting on our streets.
We get away with swearing at others all the time.

We get away with the tension we feel everyday in our body with our solutions.
We get away with cruising in life and avoiding people who challenge us.
We get away with making life about ourselves and our family and forget the world.
We get away with treating our pets with absolute cruelty.

Let’s get real and start with some honesty.

Most of us tend to continue on the same track even if it is not natural because it gives us something.
Would it be true to say that it allows us to continue making choices that suit us and make us feel comfortable?

Could it be because we are simply not ready for all this RESPONSIBILITY grown up stuff that stops us living our familiar life?

Could this mean that if we started to take Responsibility for all our choices, we would be accountable for all our thoughts, actions and deeds?

With very few real true role models around, where people are living another way and their core values are –

Responsibility
Integrity
Accountability
Understanding
Respect
Decency
Caring for self and others
Commitment to Life
Appreciation
Unity
Equalness
Brotherhood

we just want to give up and find a way to cope and ‘getting away with it’ becomes our normal, unless it is something against the law and we get caught.

Next –

What about the stuff that is not extreme like an abusive relationship behind closed doors?

Everything looks super normal as we have a good job, nice car, tick the boxes and wear a mask saying we are a decent member or society. The chances of ever getting caught are slim as it is not the obvious place to go.

So what actually changes?
Does the root cause of our behaviour get addressed?
Do we ever get to feel the real consequences of our actions?

We all know that we have a duty and a responsibility not to harm others.
But what if we are not equipped to do this simply because we are harming ourselves on a daily basis and are not even aware of it?

Have we bothered to stop long enough to consider how we treat our body every single day?

Do we honestly rest and sleep enough to bring balance to our body?
Do we eat foods that will not alter our moods?
Do we drink to not make us racy and push us beyond our natural limits?
Do we drink enough water which we all know is needed?
Do we walk every day without any reason other than to support our body?

Could it be possible that if we started to take true Responsibility for our body and made that our focus, things would change?

Could it be possible that taking deep care of ourselves would mean we cannot harm another?

Could it be possible that this way of living means we no longer need to ‘get away with’ anything?

  1. This blog makes me realize just how much we have all been part of creating a society that accepts the “getting away with it” mentality as normal…

I have done my share of getting away with it but I do know I have not, in truth, gotten away with any of it.

The very thought or feeling of ‘getting away with it’ has to come from the knowing we all have inside that we are doing something that is not part of the true
quality and essence that we are.

    1. You are right Jo – this is a ‘mentality’ so to speak that most of us have regarding this getting away with it stuff. Most of us if we are honest and stuck our hands up could say we have done our share but as you say In Truth we have not really got away with any of it.

The thing is once we read this blog, we cannot un-read what we have read and we cannot un-feel what we have felt so our moral compass inside us gets a reminder.
Of course we can continue with our old way or we can at least stop and consider –
How on earth does this serve us and our world if we are trying to get away with something?
Who benefits really if we are being totally honest?

  2. This blog really cuts to the chase. It somehow manages to land that the small ‘thinking you are getting away with its’ are absolutely equal to the large. It’s the same quality. It’s so easy to say to yourself ‘well, I’m not doing anything REALLY bad’ or ‘everybody else is doing it’ or ‘I’m doing better than most’ or ‘I’m coasting along quite nicely thank you’. And then you read this blog and it pulls you back to the truth. Calls you to more.

    1. Thank You JS for confirming this blog ‘really cuts to the chase’ and this is what is needed if we are to ever become a race of beings that take that word RESPONSIBILITY to the heart of anything and everything and start to live that word in our everyday life.

When we know that we are accountable for all our choices maybe then we will realise that getting away with anything is not the Truth but simply a delay in our own evolution.

    2. Excuses, excuses it is amazing how our minds can rationalise away what we know is wrong. The “everybody else is doing it” is one that I have used. Does it make it all right just because other people are doing it? Will anything change if I just go along with the crowd and ignore the fact that what I am doing is wrong?

      Responsibility is the key.
If I take true responsibility for my own life it will make a difference because I am showing the world another way to live.

  3. My brain thinks that I can get away with things but my body does not get away with anything. Does this make any sense? How can that happen?

My brain says that I can have a beer and it will be all right, but my body knows that it does not want any alcohol and I know that my body is right because alcohol is a poison.

So I am a working at listening to my body, because that is where my true intelligence lies. Very challenging because that is not what I was taught in life, but slowly I am remembering my body and it feels amazing.

    1. Great you mention Ken about how our ‘body does not get away with anything.’
We would all like to think it does as it suits us and your example of alcohol is a classic one. We all know Alcohol is a scientific proven poison and we only need to read the blog on this website to have it confirmed – https://simplelivingglobal.com/the-real-truth-about-alcohol/

How on earth do we think that drinking poison because it is ‘legal’ is not affecting our body. The bit that always is a great reminder is that alcohol gets to the brain because it can get through the blood brain barrier.
This is huge if we just stop and pause for a moment. Our body is designed in such a divine way that it has something that protects the brain by not allowing substances to enter. Yet a poison we think is socially acceptable gets through and affects our brain.
We can champion it or do whatever we want but there is no getting away that alcohol and other drugs alter our mind and that means our body is no longer in its natural state of being.

As you say Ken – listening to your body is well worth it as that is where our true intelligence is.
Is is any wonder we have such rise in illness and disease throughout our world?

  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38596034

This is a BBC news article last month about what is going wrong with the UK prison system.

What sticks out that can be related to the title of this blog, is a drugs problem called NPS – New Psychoactive Substances.
Sold under names such as Spice and Black Mamba, by 2013 these synthetic cannabis compounds had become a major problem.

Despite the dangers, these synthetic drugs are popular because they are hard to detect using conventional drug testing methods and they provide a diversion to the boredom and frustration of prison life. The drugs are a source of income for criminal gangs whose illicit use of phones and drones, combined with the help of a number of corrupt staff, has helped the trade thrive behind bars.

So if you click the link you can watch a video of a drone deliver drugs and mobile phones to a London prison.

So who is getting away with what?
Can we work it out and is it that simple?
What is this telling us about the ‘getting away with it’?

    Who makes this synthetic stuff?
Where is the source of this coming from?
What are they actually getting away with?
How many people are involved in this illicit spice industry?
What is this costing human life while we think we are getting away with it?

Do we ever stop and ask what on earth are we really getting away with in life?

If we are honest – are our prisoners taking drugs because of boredom and frustration or could there be something more?

WHY does anyone need to take a mind altering substance that takes them away from their natural inner most self?

WHY does anyone think they are getting away with anything?

  5. It’s interesting to take a moment and consider what ‘getting away with it’ actually means. As is said here do we really get away with anything? Everything we do, think, say is observed by our body, our body does not miss a thing and everything we do, say, think is ‘registered’ in our body – like our very own library of every moment in our lives stored right under our nose. We think (I know I do) that we can sweep something under the carpet, bury, deny, ignore but where do we think it goes as there is no carpet to sweep it under…and like the carpet the ‘stuff’ is still underneath as in its stored in our body. We then wonder why we feel so ill or tired or anxious for example, but if we looked back at our daily living choices there it is…our every action is there stored in our body for better or worse as our own momentums always come back to bite us.

A real example of that for me was waking up 17 years ago with burn out unable to get out of bed having had 20 years of working excessive hours, little care for my own health, continually exhausted – my body gave me my seeming ‘getting away with it’ ‘package of 20 years of self abuse and there I was in bed too sick to move having to deal with the way I had lived. I didn’t get away with anything.

    1. You make some great points here Jane Keep and it sure makes sense.
Our body is like a library or call it a big time machine that clocks every single thing we think, say and do and there is no getting away from that immutable fact even if we would like to think this is mumbo jumbo talk.

Your health example could be applied to what is currently going on in our world.
We stack up all the stuff we have been getting away with and then boom – one day the body shows us loud and clear and we get a wake up call which we call accident, illness or disease.
How we are living every single day, really is what makes the difference and we if think or know we are getting away with something at the expense of our body, we are not.
It is not about perfection or trying hard – it is about being realistic and sensible in our daily choices and using that word RESPONSIBILITY that will be the game changer.

  6. On considering ‘getting away with it’ I have ‘don’t care’ moments where in the busyness of life I push through and make out like there are rules for some which don’t apply to me as I can ‘get around them’.
For instance I moved to London last year, and got two parking tickets in quick succession, both times because I was rushing, I thought parking in a no go area would be okay for a few minutes, and that I would ‘get away with it’, but each time I got a parking ticket, one for parking for three minutes – so I have been looking at this thing about ‘getting away with it’ and realising we don’t get away with it, as, like it or not, a ‘boomerang’ comes back and hits us whether immediately or some time after.
Its like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off… and we feel the tension of it (as I felt very tense when I parked wrongly) so even in that we don’t get away with it.

  7. There seems to be a level of corruption in all parts of human life.
Why do we think that that is just the way it is?
Is the rising level of violence and disease in the world a symptom of this problem?
I have felt frustrated in the past, with this lack of integrity, and frustrated that I did not know what to do about it.
Making tougher laws, make people feel better but this does not seem to solve the problem.

Is it possible that if everyone was truly responsible for there actions there would no need for laws and police?
I feel that taking responsibility for our own lives is the first step in making a change in the world.

  8. How cool Jacob that you at age six are thinking about how we all ‘get away with stuff’.

I can remember being six and feeling sneaky about some things like crying to get the attention I felt I needed from mom or pretending I fell asleep in the car so dad would cary me into the house and put me in my bed because I loved when he did that… but why did I feel the need to pretend and to lie?

  9. I have chronic tension in my body. It is much better because of the intensive self care I have been doing and I have very little stress in my life life now because I am not taking things on like I used too and have simplified my life.

So why is the tension still there?
I feel it is partially because all my life I have ignored the messages that my body has been sending me to stop.
I have always pushed beyond what my body could lovingly do.
Why did I do this? It was because I felt the work I was doing was more important than taking care of myself.
That getting the job done was what was important. I got this belief from everybody around me.

Is the state of our world today because of our disregard of all the messages that our bodies and our earth are sending us?
Like my body’s chronic tension, are all the increasing levels of illness a message that we can not get away with anything?

  10. I have chronic tension in my body. It is much better because of the intensive self care I have been doing and I have very little stress in my life life now because I am not taking things on like I used too and have simplified my life.

  11. Another blog that made me cringe – a few things on the list I have done in the past and got away with it. The alcohol was one of them and a biggie when I used to live in the UK. I used to drink and drive…… I got caught once and when the police man was talking to me he commented he could smell alcohol, I pointed to the other passengers in the car and said they had been drinking. Before he could breathalyse me he got called away to another emergency and left. If I had been caught the repercussions would have affected many things including my occupation as a health professional – how irresponsible.

As much as I am not proud of my past I did not want to be accountable for my decisions or actions, I was too busy thinking I was having fun but all that time it never fulfilled what ever was missing in my life.

I don’t drink any more not because I have suddenly woken up and thought I won’t be getting away with it anymore, but my body was signalling more and more and not letting me get away with it. I have no regrets in stopping drinking except I wished I had stopped so much earlier, there’s so much of my life wasted on alcohol.

  12. What a thought, Ken: that the only reason we need laws (and all the costs and complexity they bring) is that we don’t live responsibly. And where is each of us in that?

I very occasionally used to drive the wrong way down a small one-way road near our house. I did it in the early hours when no one was around. I did it if it was convenient for me. I did it because ‘it’s not hurting anyone and I won’t get caught’.

What was going on there? Where was my responsibility?

Not to mention I’m a lawyer!

I stopped doing it when someone told me they categorily would not because it was against the law. It was an awesome reflection for me and one that has stuck because of the conviction (not judgement) with which it was presented.

As soon as we’d discussed it, I remembered the tension in my body when I did it. My body had told me it didn’t feel right and I had chosen to ignore that (and cop the tension as a result).

So I’m wanting to know: what are my other ‘getting away with its’? Can I be honest about them?

    Can WE?

  13. After reading this blog, the logical conclusion is that most of us have been ‘Getting Away With It’ for a very long time.

This is a great expose of how we think that what we do in our everyday lives has no effect on others or our planet that we inhabit.

Even those little white lies that are seen as harmless have an effect.

For instance, if someone does something to annoy me and they can see I am annoyed and ask me if I am alright and I say “I’m fine”, because I didn’t express how I felt at that time, the issue I have stays in my body and over time these little white lies build up to the point when they explode over something very trivial.

So if the little white lies can have such an effect on us, what about the big lies?

What about things like greed, corruption, people trafficking, illegal drug producers, unscrupulous landlords, etc, etc?

How do they ‘Get Away With It’?

What if they live their whole lives and are never held accountable?

Do they really ‘Get Away With It’?

If we are open to the possibility of re-incarnation and karma, is it possible then, that what we think we have got away with in this life will follow us into our next life to be held accountable?

If it is possible, then, in truth, we really do not GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING.

  14. What happens to us when we get older and try to get away with things? When we are a young child we want to experience everything. Why would we want to get away with anything? It’s a crazy concept.

I feel it is all about not wanting to take responsibility. So why do we not want to take responsibility for our actions?

I am understanding the importance of asking questions and then letting answers just come to me, not trying to figure out the answer. This is a skill I unlearned in school. A skill I was born with.

I will get back to you with the answer to all my questions.

  15. Thoughts cross my mind, like they do most of us and we may or may not clock them.

All I know is that I feel every single move I make is being watched and noted, even if I think I am getting away with it. I say it is my soul.
I will not get caught, certainly not be going to prison and I have no intention of ever doing anything that would land me in hot water.

I am not a goody goody, trying to be nice but secretly do things. I am the total opposite.

I am open, upfront, honest, law abiding, do my best every day without the need for perfection and just have this inner compass, a radar that says ‘NO you simply will not get away with it so don’t even bother’.

In other words, I live Truth, walk that Truth and claim that Truth to the best of my ability. No mincing of words and no double standards. When I open my mouth and connect to another or present what I live, there is no dodgy jitters inside me because I know I am open and not trying to get away with anything. All transparent.

I do say to myself is there anything that I am doing that I am ashamed of or concerned if I get caught and the answer is No.

  16. I am working for a company that is trying to do as little as possible to serve their clients. Only fixing something when they are forced to do it.

They have been doing it for a long time, and they think they are getting away with it.

But I am noticing that things are not going well now that I am working there. I feel that all the stuff they have gotten away with is catching up with them.

Is it because I am bringing a level of integrity in all the work that I do for this company, that is helping to expose all the rot?

I am not special. I am just doing my work with the care and responsibility that these people that I am serving deserve.

This has helped me understand the power we have to change something that is not working, just by taking responsibility for our own life and actions.

We all have this power to change the world if we choose to live the responsibility that we feel.

  17. So here we have some hot news from Australia just out in the last hour.

A building company accused of owing tradesmen millions fails to have hijacked website shut down.

As always there is speculation and we the public seem to go for media sensationalism.
The questions we need to all be asking is how much truth is in all of this?

The judge is saying the company has failed to show why many of the site’s claims were false.

If we just stop at this point – WHY on earth would anyone or any company want to make false claims online about this or that?
What is the purpose and how does it serve?

Are our days of ‘getting away with it’ over?
Are things coming to the surface a lot sooner?
Have we noticed how fast things are happening?

Is it high time we all started conducting our private and business life with the utmost decency and integrity as this is the true way to live life on Earth?

The other thing to always bear in mind when we observe stuff like this is how would things be if money was not in the equation?
It seems to be that money is the motivating factor when it comes down to stories like this.

  18. I am applying for jobs, and in the past I have changed my resume to suit the job. Is this because I want the job and I do not want to say anything that will put it in jeopardy?

I am deciding that I am going to say the truth, the best I can, and then let what happens happen. This makes so much sense. Then I do not have the feeling that I am getting away with something.

I am presenting me, that is the best qualification to get me the right job.

Life would be much simpler if we were not trying to get away with things. Just doing what feels true.

  19. Living in London you get to see how precious parking space is and how some people would do anything to be able to park where they know they should not in hope of getting away with it.

Reading the newspaper on the train yesterday, there’s a business owner with a flashy lamborghini sports car displaying a disabled badge trying to get away with it.

WHY is it that we feel we can do this and to make things worse when we do get caught the excuses and lies just keep coming and sound so way off, you could not make them up. We seem to be masters at creating lies when we get caught.

I am not advocating being goody goody but if we are using a disabled badge that is not ours – just like I saw someone on the high street in the last hour – then we need to be asking where on earth is our moral compass and WHY do we think getting away with it is ok?

We seem to have a lack of Responsibility in certain areas of our lives and is it high time we started questioning WHY instead of continuing until we do get caught?

Are we really getting away with it or as this blog is saying is our Soul clocking every single movement even those behind closed doors when we really think no one is looking or watching over us?

If we think about it – is it worth the embarrassment, financial loss and all the other stuff that goes with getting caught? What is the purpose?

If something suits us like parking with a dodgy permit, are we really surprised when we get caught or are we loving living life in the danger zone?

  20. The Week – Issue 1135 dated 29 July 2017

A trophy hunter in 2015 caused global outrage when he shot dead Cecil the lion.

This news story says that one of the offspring of Cecil has also been shot dead earlier this month by a tourist, as part of an organised hunt.
This activity is controversial but at the same time it is legal.
It is believed that the hunter paid around $40,000 for the shoot and for the head to be cured and mounted.

What is it about us humans that get off on something like this?

Do we see animals as a different species and so it is ok to kill, chop a head off and have it as eye candy mounted in our home or wherever we choose?

    What next ?

Are we going to give others ideas that we can shoot and kill and get away with it?

Do we stop and ask WHAT IS THE PURPOSE – what is the point of any activity that harms another, be it a human or an animal?

The money always plays a big part as we all know – so who gains from this and how much is actually going on that is under the radar and may never get to a news story?

It seems in our world today, that we have an invisible licence without a moral compass inside us to do what we want, because we can get away with it.

  21. Walking home today I noticed a huge car parked quite dangerously on double yellow lines right on a corner from the high street. Owner got out and was off and I done a double take as I know the only people who get away with parking there are disabled badge.

Even blind freddy would notice this person was in no way disabled but was taking advantage of this ‘free ride’ because they can. You stick this bit of paper on your dash board and bingo passport to irresponsible parking with no thought or consideration to anyone. No surprise the next car was a super duper mercedes with seats so low it would be impossible to get out of this car if you were physically disabled in anyway. Yep – the owner is not disabled.

The point here is relating to the title of this blog about Getting away with it.
What allows people to think it is totally ok to abuse the system?
WHY does our system allow for this and WHY is there so much division when it comes to things like parking permits.

My elderly father aged 84, with a recent stroke, brain injury and advanced glaucoma in both eyes was refused a disabled parking permit. The man does not drive but it is useful in London as everywhere is no parking zones even at the doctor’s surgery or hospital.

We need to get real and to do that we need a good dose of honesty.

Things are simply not the same same across the board and this is a classic example of how our systems do not collaborate and work with a one-unified Truth.

Is it any surprise why our world is so divided and separated when this stuff is going on at a street level?

Try telling elderly parents that different councils have different rules, even though they are only a few miles apart. They simply lack the understanding as to WHY our systems operate as they do because it makes no sense.

  22. With all the current media news about this famous person, politician, celebrity or whoever getting exposed for something they have done, it is telling us what this blog is presenting – we are not really getting away with anything.

Transparency is now needed more than ever and we need to start living a life that is consistently aligned to Truth, with no perfection but making it real.

Deep down we all know what is Truth and what is not. We all know when we abuse another in anyway but we may choose to ignore our moral compass inside us as it suits us to have fun, indulge in what we want in that moment, get our needs met or whatever it is we do for our own personal gain.

What if there is a Law of Oneness – a correction where things have to be called out and exposed for what they are?

What if we will never get away with anything that harms?
What if all our secrets and vices are going to come out one day?
What if our double life is being watched and observed by others?

What if we started to live a see through life, so we do not need to ever watch our back or live in a constant state of anxiousness, as if we are doing something wrong and just do not want to be caught in the act, so to speak?

What if we started to read blogs on this website like these? –

  23. The taxi driver meeting me at the airport changed the designated pick up location. It turned out this was because he did not want to pay the £4 for picking up a customer there.

He had driven in when the car park gate was open and had hoped to be able to get away with driving out without paying.

He said later he had done this loads of times.

This time the trick did not work and he ended up arguing with the controller on the intercom.

He got out by tailing another car, which was a dangerous manoeuvre. The controller shouted as he passed that he had the driver’s number plate.

We talked about getting away with it and whether that is ever really possible.

We talked about the impact on the controller of having to deal with that situation.

It was clear to see the fury inside him at the game being up, and from starting to consider how much the game might actually damage both ourselves and others.

  24. I have lived most of my life producing my own electricity, for our home with a solar electric system. I was very aware of how much electricity we used because I was responsible for providing it and I truly valued the amazingness of what electricity can do.

When I finally started paying an electric bill, I was astonished how cheap electricity was.

I never understood why people left their lights on for no reason, but when I saw that you could leave a light on all night and it only cost 5 cents, I understood why.

So just because electricity is so cheap, are we getting away with using as much as we want?

People living in the USA generally pay less for energy [fuel for their cars, and electricity}, than most in the world.
Does this make any sense when the USA, [5 % of the worlds population] uses 24% of the energy used on earth?

Is money the reason that dictates our level of responsibility?
Is it a measure of what is important in life?

Is this a world wide issue, choices being made around money, rather then what is best for humanity?

  25. Reading a news story in the Metro on the train yesterday, about a police officer who led a double life and was growing and selling Cannabis. Apparently, he got the idea from a TV crime drama.

Why I chose to put this comment on this blog was because he has been caught.

So his double life has come to an end and he is not “getting away with it” any longer.

WHY do we think we are getting away with it and WHY do we up the stakes as this ‘bad cop’, as they call him was doing?

It is like we lose sense of reality and become something we are not by nature and get carried away to the point, we cannot stop unless we are stopped, as in this case.

I wonder how many more are out there doing what this man was doing, who think they are going to continue “getting away with it”.

What if Transparency is the name of the game?

What if we need to start taking Responsibility for our choices or we may just land up where we never thought we would, like jail?

Those of us who do dodgy stuff and are getting away with it, must be living with a constant tension, knowing deep down what is right and wrong.

We were not born criminals and we were not raised to do things to “get away with it”.

Would it be a wise choice to stop our dodgy movements, get back on track and stay on track, so we never need to ever look over our shoulder again, worrying if we might just get caught?

Well worth considering, if you ask me.

  26. Citizen Journalism – on the street reporting in
I was in line at my local community shop where I know the owner and staff very well.
They have a system that if you pay upfront they write it on your ticket so when you collect it is clear you have paid.

The customer started by saying his wife had left sheets and he wanted to collect them without his ticket. There was delay as he wanted the owner to go looking for these sheets and of course this was going no where as there was no proof, when he started claiming they were his sheets. He then was ready to leave with his dry cleaned coat but it had not been paid for.

He insisted he paid yesterday but could not give the proof and walked out of the shop saying he would come back, as his car was parked without a parking ticket displayed.

This meant the quality of my transaction was not up to the full service I normally get as the owner was clearly disturbed and he lost my ticket and then told me I had lost it.
Of course it turned up in his till misplaced in error. However, this was another delay.

I wonder if those trying to get away with it are aware of the ripple effect of their behaviour. This was a middle class gentlemen who most would class as intelligent living in a posh neighbourhood trying it on. I was in no doubt that this man was doing his best to get away with it.

The knock on effect means others are affected, like I was and my question is could this have been different if the owner stopped being nice and just said No when he could feel how wrong this was?

  27. Just having a conversation with a few people who work in government offices and other jobs paid directly by the government.

This is first hand information and what is clear is that people are ‘getting away with it’.

Employed in a full time job and running a business overseas, using the resources ie. time and computer/internet during work hours.

So how come no one says anything when it is common knowledge what they are up to?

Do we turn a blind eye because we know it will lead to confrontation?

Do we delude ourselves into thinking they work long hours so leave them alone?

Do we each have a responsibility because public money is what their salary is?

The point here is how long do any of us think we are ‘getting away with it’ AND what is the QUALITY of a business that is being run on a ‘getting away with it’ vibration?

In other words, how truly successful is a business if it is all about making the maximum profits but not having integrity how the profits are made?

How does this play out in the big picture?

In other words, how does this type of business affect everyone and does it give rise for others to follow this model in the thinking that they are ‘getting away with it’?

  28. I read an article recently in the Daily Mail (2nd June 2018) about two people who had committed fraud.

The article had photographs of their faces with a caption underneath that said –

    ‘Took £120,000 in handouts’

The story goes on to name and shame the man and woman and said how they got free hotel accommodation, free meals and clothes from a local authority as they fraudulently claimed to have been victims of a serious fire.

There are some of us who take advantage of situations for our own gain and mankind generally points the finger saying how bad they are, but how do people manage to get away with these things?

    Are we looking at that?

Yes we always get caught eventually if we are up to no good, but at a great expense to the public purse – whether that be through the cost of taking cases to court or through fraudulent use of public funds as in this case.

In reading this news story the question arises –

Why did it take the staff so long to work this out?

Were there no accurate records of who was living in the flats?

Were staff so caught up with emotions, due to the shock of the fire that things were not checked properly?

    Was everyone in a rush?

Were there a lack of resources before and after the fire that prevented proper record checking?

Whatever the answer, it feels to me imperative that we start to look at our systems and be honest about what is not working.

When cutbacks are made, staffing is often the first area to be reduced, as it is the largest spend, but in the long term it never pays off.

Wherever costs have been reduced in staffing, cost levels always go up in another area, which if we mapped it are directly related.

Public services are there to administer public funds and this means spending wisely tax payers’ money.

Can we honestly say that this is happening?

  29. An article in the Daily Mail, 22nd January 2018, asks: “Why we think we’ll get away with dangerous driving”.

It asks if most of us think we can get away with dangerous driving because there are not enough police on the roads.

The number of traffic police fell from 3,766 to 2,643 between 2007 and 2017.

Following the decline in the number of traffic officers, a recent poll has found that 54 per cent of drivers believe they would escape prosecution if they used a mobile phone at the wheel.

And 55 per cent think they would not be stopped for driving in a dangerous or defective condition. The poll of 19,500 drivers by the AA also found that 65 per cent believe they are unlikely to be pulled over for offences such as tailgating or hogging the middle lane

The president of the AA said: “It is very worrying that drivers feel that a lack of police officers on the roads means they can get away with careless driving and other serious motoring offences”.

This poll was only done on 19,500 people – if we look at the pro rata figure for all road users then it shows a great many people are prepared to flout the law and put other road users at risk.

Why do we choose to break the law and use our mobile phones?

Why do we choose to drive vehicles that we know shouldn’t be on the road?

Why do we choose to do dangerous manoeuvres with no consideration for others?

Why do we choose to hog the middle lane (or outside lane) or tailgate the vehicle in front, which puts peoples safety at risk?

We all know the rules of the road so everything we do is a choice – no one is making us do anything.

So why do we feel we can ‘get away with it’?

Is it really because there is a lack of police presence?

    Or…

Is it possible that we think the rules are there for everybody else to follow and that we are exempt?

As someone who has driven lorries and buses, I have seen a lot of bad driving. The end result always has to come down to what level of responsibility we are prepared to take.

As said earlier, every action we take on the road is a choice – and as such, we have to be held accountable for our choices.

If we are not prepared to take responsibility for our choices, is it possible that, at some point, we WONT ‘get away with it’ any more?

  30. Discussing last week with some Australians, their experience of driving on British roads.

They were shocked at the speeding. They could not understand why people were not sticking to the speed limit. They saw this on all types of roads and noted how they were regularly overtaken when they were driving at the maximum speed for the road.

They felt it to be most unsafe.

In Australia, if you go over the speed limit, you get fined. They are hot on enforcement, with police cameras everywhere.

The same goes for cameras on traffic lights, so noone runs a red light.

The conclusion was that in the UK, we drive at the speed we think we can get away with. And we get away with a lot.

So what is going on here?

Is the truth that most of us will only do what the law says if it is properly enforced?

If that is true, should this inform our political strategy – what our policy makers decide regarding the law and its enforcement and resourcing?

And could this be a marker for how we are doing as a society? Whether we choose to stick to the laws that support us all (regardless of how aggressive the enforcement) or if we keep trying to get away with it – every man/woman for him/her self?

  31. I recently experienced something in my business where I had to express my truth or simply accept what was being offered.

The exact detail, for the purpose of this comment is not needed.

What I realised was this situation was about setting standards and what I am to stand up for, when I know something is not Truth.

Our world is full of many organisations that will do whatever they want, because they know they can get away with it. There is simply no consideration for another, or their business or what they are communicating.

Taking this matter further, involving a lawyer or finding out more about my legal rights would not have served. By this I mean, I knew it was pointless and the amount involved whilst it was big to me, would probably be nothing to most and could be written off.

The main thing here for me was to express my truth and not hold back, because I had some bigwig dismissing me and my request for a refund, because the product was simply way below standard.

In my usual articulate and precise manner, I listed all the reasons why I did not want another replacement. My request was ignored and that made me reflect on the whole thing.

We each have standards and I know I have raised the bar in many ways by the way I Live and how I choose to conduct myself in life, in every area.

I do not treat work and business any different to my personal life and both have standards. These standards are not about being perfect or any other nonsense like that.

When we know something is not right, it is wise to express this and it is super supportive to ensure we share how we feel, without feeling bad.

I gave myself some time and space and this morning I knew exactly what needed to be said to close the cycle so it is no longer something I need to bang on about, phone a friend, gossip or hold resentment or any emotion inside me about.

I sent a short email to the organisation asking them to remove and collect the product. I then wrote to the professional bigwig who recommended this company to me and expressed exactly what had happened. This in itself completed everything that needed to be said and for me this is total closure.

What they do or not do going forward, is not my business.

Saying nothing and not setting true standards for me is not an option.

I know what to say and I know how to express. This means I have a duty to humanity to deliver that and this comment is for that purpose.

  32. There are so many things that we feel we can get away with because we are not seen or because we know that others will not say anything to expose us.

Reading an article in the Guardian, G2 supplement – 30 October 2018 about driving instructors’ lewd conduct towards female and male learner drivers gives us one example.

Some spoke about how it would start with comments from the instructor about their physicality, this would often progress to touching. Some of the students tried to tell their families, but they were either not believed or told not to make a fuss. Some tried to report their instructors to the driving school but were brushed off or ignored. One woman said that when she tried to report this to the driving school her account was doubted, with the manager implying she had no proof and might be lying by saying “With all due respect, it’s only you two in the car.”

This highlights how and why we can get away with things that are harmfull.

If those who are on the receiving end of the abuse are not supported by family and friends to speak out, then where do we go if we have any doubts about what we are experiencing?

Is it this behaviour that those who are abusing rely upon, as very often they know that people will not speak out and will do nothing.

However there comes a point where some people do choose to speak out, regardless of what others say and they really highlight to us that there is another way. In a sense they are way-showers, as they are going against the trend by speaking out at any cost.

What is it about us that would tell another to not make a fuss and stay silent?

What would makes us doubt what another is telling us about their experience of abuse?

Is it because we feel uncomfortable?

Is it because we are so used to not saying anything, that it feels too uncomfortable to start speaking the truth?

Does it seem easier to go into denial and pretend that it is not happening?

Is it because we do not want to get involved?

Is it because we will be exposed for allowing the abuse to have occurred, as we knew something was not right all along?

Are we trying to protect the perpetrator?

Is it worth seriously asking ourselves these questions, next time we want to turn a blind eye to something?

  33. Talking to a cab driver last night. He is also a fire fighter and was sharing how not all of his colleagues do the necessary fitness work.

He puts this down to ‘getting away with it’.

He said every station has a gym and they have allocated time every shift to do their exercise training. He says this is because fitness can mean life or death on a job. They carry heavy kit and their protective suits are airless and cumbersome. They have to be able to run up stairs, carry people and handle heavy water jets. Fitness is key.

The fitness tests are once a year and in his opinion not hard enough. He said this means some don’t take it seriously. They watch football or snack and ‘hang out’ in their fitness time slots.

He says he tries to lead by example but it doesn’t work. He would like to see higher standards across the board and thinks the system should be changed so people can’t wing it.

This made me think about the systems in our society and how important they are to help us be responsible – to support all of us.

  34. The Times – 20 November 2018

Fake Doctors are getting away with it after the General Medical Council in UK found a psychiatrist, who worked for 22 years did not have the real qualifications.

This person was jailed for faking a patient’s will and it was at this time that the fraud of being a qualified psychiatrist was unmasked.

Most of us would not want to think of the knock on effect here.
How many patients were seen and how on earth did this person ‘get away with it’ for over 2 decades?

A psychiatrist requires a specialist training over and beyond the medical doctor training – so how serious is this really?

Could it be possible that our ‘getting away with it’ for so long keeps us in a momentum of lies and this leads to us wanting even more of the ‘gawi’ as in this particular case.

So they had 22 years of success at causing serious harm to others and then they wanted more.
This more was where it all had to stop and by getting caught, the underlying more deeper insidious lie was found.
In other words faking a patient’s will led to the root of what this person was up to.

Getting away with it cannot be sustained or lived in the long term. This is an immutable fact.

Lies have no foundation and so for the wise reader, it is worth noting that Truth will always be the last one standing.

  35. I met a young lady today who shared her experience of not giving up in dealing with court processes regarding a debt that a large organisation said she owed.

The organisation went to court and a County Court Judgement was placed on her file, which significantly lowered her ability to obtain any future credit.

She said to me that the reason that she did not give up was because she knew that she did not owe the money and whilst having to attend a court hearing was uncomfortable, she was willing to do it.

She did attend court, but just a few days before the people who had taken her to court stated they would be withdrawing their claim.
At the hearing the Judge accepted this and the order was struck out, County Court Judgement removed and her credit history cleared.

How many of us get away with ill behaviour because no-one is wiling to stand up for the truth?

How many times have we let things slide because we can’t be bothered and we end up with dire consequences?

Everyone told this young woman that it would be impossible to have the County Court Judgement removed.

She was open to this possibility but knew that she did not owe the money and she was not budging from what she knew was true.

What if more of us behaved like this, would there be less corruption in our world?

  36. I work in the housing sector and have done so for the last 14 years.

One of the things that I come across and increasingly so are tenants who feel bullied by their landlords and who are afraid of standing up for themselves, in case they are thrown out. Being homeless is a very serious thing for anyone to experience and I can totally understand this worry.

What if this is just like any other area of life where if we do not speak up we allow the behaviour to continue, not just for us but for others?

What if we need people to speak up, even if it feels uncomfortable as if no-one does nothing, things don’t change and those that are causing harm are given the clear message that it is ok to continue?

What if we can actually support someone in their evolution by exposing and putting a stop to what they are doing?

What if this enables them to grow and learn, or even stops them from committing greater harm?

What if by not saying anything and allowing another to get away with it, we are contributing to all of the things in the world that we dislike?

Is it possible that the power is in our hands?

  37. The Week – 8th December 2018

Agromafia: How Organised Crime Infiltrated Italy’s Food Chain.

Lucrative EU subsidies, counterfeit produce, pizzerias used for money laundering: Italy’s crime families have reaped huge rich rewards by muscling in on the country’s famous food industry.

According to a Rome based think-tank, the Observatory of Crime in Agriculture and the Food Chain, the Mafia have infiltrated the entire food chain. Buying up cheap farmland, livestock, markets and restaurants. On top of that, the mob’s agricultural interests now extend to human trafficking, money laundering, loan sharking, extortion, illegal breeding, backstreet butchering and baking and the burial of toxic waste on farmland.

The value of this business has almost doubled from €12.5bn in 2011 to more than €22bn in 2018. It now accounts for 15% of total estimated Mafia turnover. A member of the think tank said: “It’s profitable and not dangerous like the drug market. They are now inserted in the industry from field to fork.”

In 2016, the president of the Nebrodi national park, a protected area in Sicily’s northeast, was attacked by gunmen. This state representative believes he was attacked by the Sicilian Mafia in retaliation for new regulations blocking millions of euros in EU subsidies on farmland from reaching it.

This was the most serious attack on a state representative since the high profile assassinations of several Italian prosecutors in the 1990’s. He uncovered a scheme by the Mafia who had leased hundreds of thousands of hectares of public land to claim EU subsidies. They could claim €1m a year on 1,000 hectares while leasing it for as little as €37,000. The state representative said: “With profit margins as high as 2,000%, with no risk, why sell drugs or carry out robberies when you can just wait for the cheque to arrive in the post. When you take money out of their pockets, that’s when the Mafia retaliate.”

According to a report by the anti-Mafia parliamentary committee in 2017, Mafia syndicates have an estimated annual turnover of €150 Billion.

As consumers have become more interested in the origins of our food, parts of agriculture have become increasingly lucrative. With margins as high as 700%, profits from, as an example olive oil, can be higher than those from cocaine.

For the consumer, counterfeiting is the main danger along with foods that have been adulterated.

It was found that wheat had been imported from Romania and then labeled as organic which commands a price three to four times higher.

Then we have the adulterated food. There are specialist police tasters that work to uncover these foods. Their taste buds are deemed so precise that the findings are even admissible in Italian courts.

Records of adulterated food include mozzarella being found whitened with detergent, olive oil mixed with cheap imported North African oil, bread made with asbestos or sawdust and cheap wine labeled as a more expensive wine.

Last year, 42 members of a mafia clan were arrested and 40 farms were seized in connection with the export of counterfeit oil to the US, sold as extra-virgin. According to police, about 50% of all extra-virgin olive oil sold in Italy is adulterated with cheap, poor quality oil.

The ‘Mafia’ has evolved over centuries from Sicily, an island in the Mediterranean Sea between North Africa and the Italian mainland and, until the mid 19th century, was ruled by long line of foreign invaders including the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, French and Spanish.

Although its precise origins are unknown, the term Mafia came from a Sicilian-Arabic slang expression that means: “acting as a protector against the arrogance of the powerful.” It is said that Sicilians banded together to protect themselves and carry out their own justice. In Sicily, the term “Mafioso” or Mafia member, initially had no criminal connotations and was used to refer to a person who was suspicious of central authority. By the 19th century, some of these groups emerged as private armies, or “mafie”, who extorted protection money from landowners and eventually became the violent criminal organisation known today as the Sicilian Mafia.

Whatever form it started out as, today it is a far cry from however noble it once was with extortion in its many forms being used.

It turned from being a symbol that fought against hostile forces that would try to suppress them to arguably the biggest suppressor of them all.

Is it possible that, if we were to think about the biggest instance of someone or an organisation that is ‘getting away with it’, at the top of the list would be the Mafia?

When we think about people or organisations that do things that are seemingly ‘getting away with it’, in comparison to what the Mafia get away with, they are minor league operators.

So, what can be done about it, if anything at all?

Going up against the Mafia would probably be a very foolhardy thing to do, so it is best left to the authorities to do that and even they struggle to bring them to justice as it is well known that anyone that could testify against the Mafia, are scared off or killed.

The simple truth is, there is not much that can be done.

Is it possible that the only thing we can do is to let the Universal Law of Karma take care of things?
    https://simplelivingglobal.com/karma-karma/

Whether or not we choose to believe in Karma, is it possible it doesn’t make it any less true?

I personally feel that Karma is true and that whenever I have acted in a way that is harming to myself or another person, at some point Karma will ensure it comes back to me in a way for me to learn and not do it again.

Karma is often viewed as a bad thing but is it possible it is simply the universe correcting something that is not true.

Any crime organisation is going to have much Karma to deal with and it may not happen right away, it may not even happen this lifetime but at some point the laws of Karma will step in.

Is it possible that we, in truth, never actually ‘get away with it’?

  38. There is not a blog on this website yet about community so this comment serves on this title – GETTING AWAY WITH IT

Talking to the manager at the brand new leisure centre costing millions and millions, she mentioned that within the first few days damage had already been seen in the elevators.

What is it about us that behaves in this way because we think we are getting away with it?

I wonder if we were taught from day dot that every single thing we do is recorded and there is actually no getting away from anything how we would behave.

What would our movements be if we knew big brother, so to speak was watching and recording every single thing we do and nothing is ever hidden or secret?

What if when we die we are faced with these ugly choices we made to others or even a building, as in this case and then were told of the consequences?

In other words, what happened after as a result of our ill behaviour and who did it affect.

Think about it using this example – there could be some that see this and think it is a licence to do more damage because they can get away with it.

OR the repairs cost money and it’s the local government public purse that has to spend it, whereas it could be put to something that is really needed.

If we are not taught the simple and basic understanding about decency and respect, then it is no surprise that we currently have zero standards set in society where this type of thing never happens.

  39. A couple of days ago, whilst out walking, a middle aged man and his dog passed me.

They were a short distance ahead of me when the dog stopped because he wanted to do his business. As the dog made its first deposit the man yanked the dog, without looking back, and dragged the dog whilst it was in the process of letting go and then made the dog carry on walking.

Again the dog stopped and deposited another sample with the man doing exactly the same thing again and carried on walking.

Now, it is fairly well known that if you own a dog and the dog does his poo in a public place, you have to clean it up.

The system of controlling dog fouling under public spaces protection orders was introduced by the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 which replaced the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environmental Act 2005.

Different councils have different rules but most councils require dog owners to carry a poop scoop and disposable bags whenever they take their dogs out in public places. Some councils offer free scoops and they also provide bins solely for the use of poop bags.

Councils also have the power to issue on the spot fines which can range from £50-£100 and if someone refuse to pay, they can be taken to the local Magistrates Court and fined up to £1,000.

The main reason you take your dog for a walk is for the exercise and for them to do their poo, so I find it quite hard to believe that this man was unaware that his dog had just pooped and was simply avoiding his responsibilities in cleaning up after his dog.

Some may say that this man is ‘getting away with it’, but do we truly get away with anything if it is not the truth?

Is it possible that there is something called Karma in the Universe?
See link on this website – https://simplelivingglobal.com/karma-karma/

And is it possible that the Universal Law of Karma is there to correct our movements?

Is it possible that Karma is a good thing as it asks us to be responsible?

If we are bound by the laws of Karma, which I feel we are, does this mean our ‘getting away with it’ days are numbered?

  40. Metro – 12th November 2019

According to a poll from an accountancy firm of 2,000 people, one in five admit to boozing when working from home.

A laidback one in three will also wear their pyjamas all day.

I am sure for many people, working from home would be a very nice change, if not a dream come true but working from home needs discipline and comes with its own responsibilities.

Of course there are those that, if given any opportunity will abuse that system. It doesn’t matter whether they work from home or at a specified workplace – with human nature as it is, there will always be those that try to get away with it if they can.

With regard to wearing pyjamas all day, there will of course be those that feel comfortable to stay in their pyjamas while working from home and there will be those that won’t feel comfortable working in their pyjamas and will change into something more appropriate.

Whatever way we choose to dress, we will choose whatever is the most comfortable for us so we can be as productive as we can.

Drinking alcohol, on the other hand, would definitely be considered as “Getting Away With It’.

Not only would it be considered as taking severe advantage of your employer but, without doubt, any work that is completed after the imbibement of alcohol would be lacking in any true quality.

Drinking alcohol whilst we are at work is abuse and definitely NOT acceptable.

We wouldn’t drink alcohol if we were at our normal place of work, so why should we lower our standards just because we think we will be ‘Getting Away with It’?

  41. Country Living – 17 February 2021

    https://www.countryliving.com/uk/wildlife/dog-breeds/a35529782/dog-breeds-illegally-imported/

New research has found that the following dog breeds are commonly investigated for being illegally imported –
    French Bulldogs
    American Bulldogs
    Pomeranians
    Chow Chows
    Dachshunds

With a rise in exotic dog breeds, many owners are illegally importing pets with 75% of owners being caught up in investigations.

78% have had a problem with their dogs according to Direct Line pet insurance.
33% saying their pets have fallen ill after purchase and they had been caught up in an illegal importation.

Most of us know that the pandemic lockdown restrictions has got the masses wanting the companionship of pets but experts are warning owners to be careful when buying from rogue breeders abroad.

Whilst we may like to think that it is good to give a pet from another country a home, it can come with risks. Not knowing the history of an animal can result in the owner being left with costly vet bills due to pre-existing conditions, complications from an illness the pet contracted while abroad or during transit, which could even lead to an animal having to be put down.

The Dogs’ Trust found Eastern European vets creating false pet passports and fake rabies vaccination records.

We could react here and blame these dodgy dealers who trade pets or we could take a dose of honesty and admit that there has to be a demand for the supplier to be in business.

This illicit trade is booming because many people are seeking a pup or pedigree or both that is coming from overseas for their own reasons and this comes at a cost and not just financial. Not knowing where these dogs are born or bred is of concern but who cares when we are the ‘must buy, need it for company and uploading on our social networks’ kind of person.

Whatever our reasons for wanting to own a pet, it is well worth considering the long term consequences. One ill choice can lead to a series of complications and in some cases utter disaster.

Our suppliers are getting away with it but remember we put them there because without customers they would have no trade.

The fact we need surveys and research studies to validate and prove something before we take note says a lot about us as a race of beings. Most of us do know but we choose not to know as that suits us or it is convenient to not question anything.

There is so much that is not right in our world and plenty of people and businesses are getting away with it, but let’s just for one moment consider that there is a universal law of one-ness and that means correction. Whatever we are doing in the so-called “getting away with it” comes back around for us to experience until we learn.

May sound a bit way off and whacky but what if there was some truth in this?

  42. Guardian News – 17 April 2021

    https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/apr/17/bank-transfer-scams-fraud-victims

Modern scams are sophisticated, often involving telephone numbers and texts, mimicking banks’ security protocols.

Fraud can have devastating consequences on victims and not only financially.

22% increase in 2020 for scams that trick victims into making payments to fraudulent accounts.

Figures from the UK Finance trade association show £479 million was stolen through a process called authorized push payment fraud (APP fraud).

This news story talks about an ‘elaborate 2 day scam’ involving phone calls from fake officials where the 78 year old victim was persuaded to help a police money laundering operation and agreed to transfer £10,000 savings to a ‘safe’ place.

The victim is ‘haunted by shame’, panics if the phone rings, has her sleep affected, lost confidence, trust and self-respect. She admits that she acted ‘out of character’.

The point here is that this type of behaviour from those that chose to deceive another is on the up.

We are nowhere on the front foot – be it the banks or the customers, the general public.

People are getting away with it and the majority of us will have little or no understanding why and how this happens and what can be done to stop it.

Society has those that are getting away with it but for how long and what happens to them if they do get caught?

Is it a custodial sentence, only to be released to continue back on the ill road of de-frauding others? In other words putting profit before people?

How do we change the moral compass of every human being to be honest, decent and respect-full citizens when we are unable to live in that way in our everyday lives?

We create a world where like this victim, we end up not trusting others and casting suspicion because we have been hurt by incidents like this scam mentioned.

Those that get away with it continue as they are on a roll (so they think) to make money wrongly, illegally or without any connection to what the impact will be on the victims.

It is like they are possessed by a force that does not have a human response. In other words, they become heart-less in their actions and as humans we have a heart and do care deeply about all our fellow humans.

It is worth questioning, what gets into the minds of those that act and behave in this way?

  43. True Real Life Story

Man age 48 has been sleeping in a shed that is part of his employers building. Of course no one knows and he has been getting away with this way of living for the past 8 years.

This story comes to light as he ends up in hospital following a binge drinking episode because he had a seizure. He makes the choice to discharge himself after one week as he prefers his lifestyle. This entails holding down a full time job and paying zero for his accommodation. This has got him twenty three thousand in savings, which of course he does not want to declare and let the authorities know the truth. Well bit late for that as some savvy smart woman cross examines him when he applies for housing and saw that he had a savings account as banks seem to broadcast this type of information on the front page of a regular cheque account.

The reason he ends up with a “homeless” status in hospital is because he could not give a fixed address. His expensive footwear alerts an officer who was assigned this housing case.

    Is this not making sense?

WHY would someone do that? What is the motive behind it all?

This so-called homeless character feels he is entitled to get housing in the area that he grew up in and he is righteous about it. He does not like the fact that his employers give properties to people (in his opinion) that do not deserve it, like asylum seekers and those that have not lived and grown up in the area.

Digging deeper the officer finds evidence of expenditure, which confirms almost £400 a month goes on cigarettes and almost £200 on the television subscription for him and his mother. He earns after tax around 1800 a month. Doesn’t take long to work out the maths here.

Quick reminder – he has £23,000 in savings. When he got exposed he tells the authorities it is for his son’s university fees. He also mentioned that he received proceeds from his divorce settlement but ‘blew it all’ – a term used to say it has all been spent.

We could say that is a choice. Where to live, what to do with the earnings and how it is spent.

But what we do know is Not the truth is doing what it takes and that starts with lies after lies, simply to cover up the tracks, because we want a property and want the state to pay for that.
We could say that is called “Getting away with it”.

The officer said this character knows exactly what he is doing and chancing it, thinking he will get away with it but this time around, it is an emphatic No, as they have turned him down for any benefits or housing.

Some of us may see this as a tragic case and have the sympathy, whilst others may want to see he gets nothing, as he has been getting away with it and still is.

Some of us may feel for the employer who has no idea an employee is living on site, simply to avoid paying for accommodation.

Whatever our opinions or judgements are about this man, have we considered WHY is he doing this?

The wise officer not only cross examined his lies which of course, did not add up, but they also spoke up and reminded him gently that his choices has consequences.

Yes we all have consequences when we make choices, however big or small they may seem to us.

And finally, are we really getting away with anything or is it stacking up, waiting for us to deal with, because that is simply how human life works? We get to go around and around until we learn and one lesson that is needed in this case it that we cannot take from another and expect it to benefit us.

How would this character feel if he was the owner of a business and found one of his employers was taking advantage of free accommodation without having authorisation? In other words, living on the premises, hidden away from the spotlight for 8 years and getting away with it.

  44. A large waste disposal company have been convicted of illegally exporting more than 1,000 tonnes of household waste, which included soiled nappies, hairpieces, tins and food packaging. This waste, collected from private homes, got labelled as paper and then made its way to Asia.

The waste management company provides collection, landfill, recycling and special waste services to local authorities and industrial and commercial clients in the UK.

This has happened twice and we don’t need rocket science to work this one out. They are getting away with it and so they done it again.

Of course, the general public would agree with the waste regulation at the Environment Agency who want all producers and waste companies to be responsible and make sure they only export material that can be legally and safely sent abroad for recycling.

The Agency prevented the illegal export of 23,000 tonnes of unsuitable waste in 2019/2020.

So despite receiving a fine of £350,000 they do it again and does it bother them, or do they get away with it “because they can” and it does not really dent the billion pound turnover?

What we ought to do here is wake up.
Big kahunas are doing something most of us would say is unheard of but yet it is happening. The fact, this organisation has done this before, speaks volumes.

Does this type of news give us the green light, like it’s ok if we do things (albeit on a smaller scale) to get away with it? How is this true, honest, right or decent in any way, shape or form?

Getting away with it – really?
What is the price and was it worth it?

In this case, a household and commercial name appearing in the news may have done more harm than they might have considered.

The thing is do we really get away with anything when Truth is always the last one standing? It all comes out even if it is years down the road.

  45. I have come to realise recently that it is all too easy to not say much or take note of a conversation and feel like ‘what’s the point, nothing will change’.

Well, what if our attitude ensures nothing will change, if we do nothing when we could be doing something?

For me it means pay attention and report it on this website as there are plenty of blog titles with different topics. It is the perfect platform to say it as it is. No need to rant or shout, just express so the world gets the message.

There is no article yet on this website about corruption, which we all know runs through every industry in society.

Be it the justice system, local government, transport system or health system – I have heard way too many stories to just leave it now and say nothing. Of course, I do not need to name names as that is not what this website is about. It is simply to bring awareness and for me a comment such as this is to put it out there, so it is no longer hidden. I call that getting it “out on the grid, in the field”. It goes into space and from there on let the law of correction do what is needed because we all have to one day face everything that we know is not the Truth. Most of us would hate this, blow up and bad mouth this author, as it is saying we have to be responsible and accountable for our choices. Well what if there is an element of Truth here that we ought to consider, as our world is full of corruption and things are escalating at epic levels.

Getting away with it, is what this blog is about and boy oh boy some are playing games and getting away with so much under the guise of ‘work’, in positions of power that are nothing short of utter abuse for those that pay them, reward them for their so-called greater accolades and know how. Call that experience or whatever. Those under them, so to speak may not be in such agreement as this is where we get the signs and the stories from.

Real life true story – long term employees running a business in Africa from their work computer and proudly showing off to other staff how much money they are making and how big it is and the growth means they are employing more and more staff. Wonderfull news we could say, but a stark reminder is that they are paid a full time wage for the past 2 decades from one of our government systems.

Next real life true story – manager working minimum hours possible and using staff “under” them to do his outstanding jobs, whilst he runs a car show room literally from his office desk and of course “getting away with it”.

All the staff know and yet nothing is said or reported. For the record, this has been going on for years and we could say it is cheeky or we could say it is abusing the company and robbing them, as he is not doing the job he is paid to do,

We could ask WHY is this and where is the transparency when it comes to mr manager reporting to his senior managers and directors of his company?

This is 2 of many many stories I get to hear and it is going on everywhere in our world. Let us wake up and not pretend it is not happening because it is.

SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT and whilst we cannot take these guys on directly in fear of backlash or our own job security, we can start by talking to others, not from a place of gossip or circulating this stuff, but from a call out that this is not acceptable. Where is the integrity, decency, respect and transparency?

For those of us that are not bothered, don’t care or say it’s none of our business, we ought to ask a few questions:

Is it that we don’t care or do we avoid any form of confrontation?

Do we think it’s their business and as long as we get paid, that is all that matters?

Do we in anyway abuse the employer, like these guys, with our dodgy behaviour?

Do we have a blind spot when it comes to disturbing stuff like this going on?

Do we hate it, but are way too afraid to ever say anything as we need the job?

We read about corruption in our media stories and yet we forget it is going on to a smaller degree in our work places everywhere. Regardless of the size or amount of abuse, it is nevertheless Abuse and if we don’t call it out by opening our mouth, then we can expect more of the same to continue all over the world.

Yes we have a duty to our fellow humans to speak up and not be afraid of standing for Truth but of course we could not do this, if we in some way are leading a double life, up to no good in our spare time or abusing the systems we work for in anyway.

  46. I am currently in the process of something that has triggered some pain in my spleen area. Being savvy enough now to nominate what this is about is beyond great as things move and I don’t feel stuck and the pain is not getting worse.

The purpose of this comment is I realised something today.
When we were kids our uncle used to visit and make us sit on his lap. He took great delight in goading and punching us in this area, which I now absolutely know is our spleen. How interesting that this would be happening to us as small children and we just have to accept that he is ‘big uncle’ and that is something he enjoys doing to all his nieces and nephews and he had quite a few of us and we are not to refute, retaliate or move away. In other words, take the hits and suck it up.

I hated it and would rebel and scream always. I even confronted the monster as that was what he was and it would just laugh at me and grab me and punch even harder because I created a scene and brought attention to his ill behaviour.

OK so there was no sexual abuse but nevertheless, this was utter abuse and it has taken over 50 years to have this realisation. Interesting what we bury when it comes to stuff like this.

This was back in the late 1960s and doubt it would happen today as kids tend to be on screen or are more vocal.

SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT – we know that.

He was getting away with it because he was “entitled”. He came in as the big older uncle and somehow that gave him authority over my father to do what he got pleasure from. Disgusting as it is, I know he continued to do this to little children years after we had all grown up.

I recall his final stage of life – in a hospital cot bed with zero movement and being fed by a drip and this went on for many years.

I did wonder how his childhood was and from what I know it was extreme poverty and he became a dodgy criminal, always on the run. This man could not settle.

Question: Do we really get away with it or is there a form of correction that happens?

  47. It would be true to say that every time I get into a taxi, there is some kind of story worth sharing on this website. It sure is a platform to state the facts so it gets out there. For me, that means it matters not who reads it. My job is not to phone a friend, gossip or circulate this stuff but just say it as it is and that’s enough.

Yesterday, a taxi driver tells me he is 23 years old. My first sense was this guy is older.
Looked very beefed up and that huge body was telling me something.
Without having to even dig with questions, he was openly telling me he eats “healthy”.
That word is no where near the truth of the real meaning but yet we all have our own variations of what it is to be healthy. This young man said he eats 22 eggs a day – Yes you read correctly AND 2 kg of pure meat and protein shakes and works out at the gym 3 times a day. Hmm is that normal and needed?

Well apparently he wants to get back into competition so the body has to look a certain way and this formula in the name of “healthy” is working he tells me. Note there was no mention of any fruit or vegetables or drinking water.

As the journey was quite long, there was time for more questions and this man certainly loved boasting and talking. He arrived in the UK at age 15 with his brother but told authorities he was alone. So he gets priority (apparently). He was sent to school but did not attend as he wanted to work and make money. He started as a hairdresser and was sending £500 a week back to his home country. He bought 3 houses and today one is worth over £300,000. Hold on – are we on track? This guy is aged 23.
Something is not adding up – can we join the dots here?

He tells me about his teeth. Back home its cheap and everyone is doing it and dentists make huge business from this cosmetic dental industry. They strip away the natural teeth and with special glue new white Hollywood smile teeth are in – he beams and shows me the fake white teeth. He then adds that the nose was done. Again very normal for his country and big business. Tells me its cheap and less than £1,500 and he now has both a new nose and new teeth. He got it done when he was age 20.

    Something really not adding up.
    Can we smell it ?
Bit obvious – the guy is NOT age 23.
He was a qualified hairdresser when he arrived with his refugee status claiming to be a teenager aged 15. How else would anyone hire him and he makes 500 bucks a week?

Wake up world, this is going on and he is not the only one.

He told me that the British government are good as they helped him and did I know that because he was a teenager as soon as he turned 18, there was a local council flat given to him and that means security for life. Not sure how he got a 2 bedroom but he did and then out of the blue that brother of his appears and they live together. For the record, the brother came to the UK with him but the lies were needed to get what they want first. It’s a formula and they learn and know what to say and how to get what they want with no agenda other than fool the system and take what they can.

I called a friend who works in local government in this sector and they confirmed that the local council sees these teenage cases as a priority and so he would have been given a flat at age 18. The fact remains, the guy lied to get the flat as he is not 18 but an adult when he arrive claiming his refugee status.

He goes on to share that he wants a son so he can buy him a Ferrari but he does not like women – only to see and have sex once a week. He said he loves money more than anything and making money, loads of it is his goal. He then says “driving taxis is for stupid people” but he was driving one. His response to me questioning – he is a mini cab driver and is he stupid, he replied No, because he has goals and he is going to win his body building competitions and make millions and travel overseas.

This blog title says it all – GETTING AWAY WITH IT
Time will tell where this young man ends up with his ‘getting away with it’ way of operating in life.

For the rest of us – this is not about bad mouthing or outing another but a wake up world message as it is this type of behaviour that breeds under the radar and then we wonder why society is so messed up.

  48. Today is International E-Waste day and whilst posting this on my daily Twitter, I realised how we are living has a knock on effect more than most of us care to admit or be aware of. I call it consequences that we want to ignore, refute or deny as if it matters not.

It is early evening and I hear the dustman big lorry and lots of activity outside. Yes indeed it is a recycling wagon but with just one guy and his mates, some in cars pull up around the truck. Few come out from a nearby house and suddenly the crushing noise is loud. I was stunned to see the trunk of the cars open and they manually off load bags and boxes and rubbish. What I clocked as it was all so close by was bags of clothing, then general refuse and there was a lot. Some car trunks had alcohol empty bottles, boxes and garden waste. It is like they all saved the stuff for this moment. Then came the actual wheelie bins loaded with garden waste, recycling and general waste. This was from some new tenants that are renting.

The point is what a farce when the truck clearly is for recycling only. Only today on the Internet I read that we need to recycle everything, even if it is the small things. But how will this happen if we have this going on in our own neighbourhood? Where will this garbage actually end up and how is the driver “getting away with it’?

We employ people to drive our trucks and do the job they are paid to do. Is it that management go home too early on a Friday and so the drivers like this guy can do favours for his mates or is there some profit to be made? We all know that disposing of waste is big business. For the record, we have a huge local recycling depot and with the amount of cars here why did they not use that facility? The reality is they had lots more as the wheelie bins were full up and the house was being emptied by at least another 4 adults and 2 children. It was done at great speed and swiftly so as to not draw too much attention.

Passers by may have questioned it but I doubt anyone googled to check the recycling depot and where this truck came from. All I know is it is not our regular bin guys.

We think we are getting away with it but every ill move we make like this affects us all. We like our homes to be free of rubbish and we find ways to get it out but where is our responsibility and that means where is our integrity? All areas of life need to be addressed with the utmost responsibility and what example do we give our kids whilst they join in with our illegal acts that go under the radar and come across like it’s a bit of fun, throwing our rubbish in the private truck that arrived just for our home and some friends with their garbage in the boot of their car?

Getting away with it – really?

What if there is a Universal Law of Correction and that means we don’t get away with anything. Heard of Karma? Worth reading our blog.

  49. Metro News page 5 – 22 November 2022

According to Robert Jenrick, the UK former Housing Secretary – Far too many homes do not meet a decent standard, following the death of a child due to mould in a housing association property.

Mr Jenrick added that some charities had become too big with executive pay “off the charts”.

    Dear World

We may have heard about this type of stuff going on or this is old news and we have stopped honking our horn as it doesn’t get us anywhere.

Or we just accept it as long as it does not affect our world – in other words those that we hang out with and are close to.

For someone to speak out in this way should set off alarms bells for us.
A former senior member of the Government putting his name and quoting that some charities have those in control earning money in vast amounts. In other words, they put profit before people.

What we need to do now is wake up and take responsibility as it is our watch.
We all are members of humanity and we cannot simply step aside and read this and say nothing. This is not about creating more chitta and circulating a story by sensationalising it, but by talking at every dinner table conversation or at work that this is going on.

When we express what we know is not feeling right or we sense there is more going on beneath the surface, then we call it out and not dilly dally or mince our words.

This tiny article on a free newspaper during a daily commute to the city speaks volumes. What it spells out is this is going on and those in positions where they can exploit are getting away with it.

Reporting it and talking about it ensures we did not ‘enable’ it to continue with nothing said. We get to feel we can contribute even if it just a comment on a website stating the facts and not getting caught up in the story.

SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT if we have bigwigs taking large salaries under the banner of “charity”. These are the organisations that our charities commission need to investigate and not those that are getting on with it and have transparency and are genuinely making a difference.

  50. Talking to a postman today about a conversation in the neighbourhood where a resident approached a home owner, who simply denied being who they are. Like hello, do we honestly think we get away with that kind of stuff and if we do for how long?

The postman said why is it that they can’t just be honest as the stranger asking them was not known to them. My take is if you are up to something dodgy, underhand or not having an ounce of integrity in the way you really run the show, then expect consequences. We see this in the media all the time, where those that get exposed end up living a very different life because they were doing something that was not for the benefit of all. By that I mean it was self-serving and nothing more.

Time is up for all those that think “getting away with it” is acceptable and ok because to operate in this way, we have to have a constant watching over our back and the lack of internal settlement – that eternal unrest – would have to be going on. No amount of drugs, distractions, duping others, making profit from others or whatever our self-medication is, if we are up to something that we know deep down is harming others, then let this be a message to ALL – time up and game over. There will always be a hole, an opening so to speak, where someone or something comes to light and boom, those that thought they were on a roll with their ‘getting away with it’ lifestyle are not.

The question they need to answer at that time is – Was it worth it?
    And at what cost?

These words are a reminder to ALL of us and serves well on this blog titled –
    GETTING AWAY WITH IT

    RESPONSIBILITY
    ACCOUNTABILITY
    INTEGRITY
    CONSEQUENCES
