Lazy Living

Dear World

WHAT on Earth is Lazy Living?

Does it apply to us personally?

Can any of us relate to Lazy Living?

Are we subscribing to Lazy Living in anyway?

Are we enjoying our Lazy Living Lifestyle as it feels comfortable?

Are we ready to admit we could have some Lazy Living ways that are not supporting us?

Are we un-comfortable with our Lazy Living and hate that word Responsibility?

Are we jumping on the bandwagon of anything trending out there, which supports our Lazy Living?

Are we the ones that have ensured Lazy Living is the New Normal and we just like it that way?

Are we hanging out with more people that do the Lazy Living, which is now the accepted norm?

Are we posting utter nonsense about our Lazy Living ways on Social Media?

Are we getting Tired and Bored with this Lazy Living way of operating in life every day?

Are we disturbed when we observe another that is clearly not in Lazy Living mode?

WHY do some of us indulge in our Lazy Living Lifestyle and get irritated with others that clearly don’t want this?

Where do we see Lazy Living in the world, or have we got a blind spot as we are doing it daily?

What is the Lazy Living Lifestyle that many of us now subscribe to and champion?

The purpose of this article is to call out a way of living that many of us would recognise as Lazy and present Another Way of living that is Simple and supports our true health and well-being.

For starters –

Lazy Living is not going to give our health the long-term results we expect, want or Demand.

Next –

Many of us associate Lazy Living with teenagers who are content not having their bedsheets changed for months or leave the take away containers under their bed.

Others may see Lazy Living as those that order food and have it delivered daily and spend most of their time in front of a Screen1

Some of us call Lazy Living an un-tidy home with the washing up and Laundry piled up and mess everywhere.

Here are a few more we could reflect on or relate to

Not cutting our Hair or Nails and looking like we need a shower.

Not shaving and taking our grooming seriously on any day of the week.

Putting effort into sprucing up for work and hot dates but living like a slob at home.

Expecting others to clear up and clean up for us as we really have not got the movements to actually Get on with it.

Taking zero responsibility for the un-necessary mess we create at home and demanding others keep it clean and tidy.

Putting great effort and emphasis into making sure the workplace is super sharp but home life would win an award for Lazy Living.

AND then we have those that feel entitled to bang on at others to take action on the very things they are super Lazy about:

Our Sloppy Slobby behaviours that include slouching in a chair like it’s cool.

Using words like chillaxed, relaxed, laid back and chilled as a way of living.

We have preference for distracting and indulging in anything that removes us away from taking Real responsibility.

This means the Bed needs to be changed, the Toilet needs a clean and the kitchen is stinking but hey ho, let’s get the TV on and catch up on the latest box sets.

Eating can be done easy with our apps and tap tap movements, so that is sorted.

Feeling a bit bored so Online Shopping fills up the void, as it gives us that buzz and we don’t have to go out.

Or it’s the Weekend so why not do some Drugs and hang out with the same crowd that live just like us.

The following are taken from ‘real life’ examples, so we cannot say or claim that it is not going on in our world.

Partner has money so our indolence takes over.
Why bother getting a job as we can justify no reason to work.

Messing about and making Excuses but not doing any form of proper work.

Studying just to avoid getting out into the world and having a real job that pays the bills.

Engaging in purpose-less activities and avoiding Real responsibility as we find that rather Boring.

Ignoring the dirty fridge that has a stench when we open it but it’s not our Priority and never has been.

Never cleaning the floor as it would mean picking things up and that feels like hard work, so we don’t bother.

Smelly aroma around the home that tells us we need to clean but sitting at the café all day with our laptop is what we do.

Using our cologne spray to mask the smells we don’t seem to like in our home.

Same socks and underpants all week and that suits us as it means less washing or we just bin them and buy more.

No shower for days but not that bothered as we work from home so we can cover up easy.

Working from home in our pyjamas all day as no one is going to check up.

Taking the Zoom official meeting and dressing down as it’s the new post pandemic dress code – it no longer matters.

Seeking remote work jobs and dictating to organisations how and when we want to work.

Leaving our computer on and popping out with the new work from home job and not concerned about consequences.

Having multiple breaks to do what we want as working from home means freedom and ‘Getting Away with It’.

Doing online surfing in ‘work from home’ time as we got these tips from others saying they do it.

Watching daytime TV as working from home is a bit boring and we feel isolated and need some distraction to pass the hours.

Next –

WHY do some people in professional jobs live extremely Lazy and step over their clothes as they cannot be bothered to pick them up?

WHY do we wait for someone to empty our stinky Trash as our Lazy Living ways do not even consider this as important?

WHY do we run to the launderette and get the service wash or pressing done while we tuck into even more food in front of a Screen2

WHY do we prefer to wake up late on a work day and not even brush our Teeth or make the Bed?

WHY do we pay zero attention to taking care of our body and cooking a meal as the Lazy option is far more easy to access?

Dear World

Lazy Living maybe trending out there but it does not mean we have to subscribe to it and join the New Normal.

Lazy Living is far from normal even if the masses are doing it.

There comes a point where we need to get Real and Serious about what happens when we continue behaviours that are not supporting our everyday health and well-being.

What was once ok may no longer be and continuing down the same road and expecting Change is not going to happen.

Lazy Living needs to be knocked out and Simple Living needs to be locked in.

Where to start?

Easy – this website.

It was designed for the very purpose of bringing awareness and practical tips on how to live Simple.
